TPDL Day #16 - What Matters Most
Matthew 22:34-40 - Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
The most important thing that we do with our lives is to love. Some of the biggest “reality TV” shows today are focused on finding LOVE (except they use the word connection because they cannot use the word love). However, most of the people on these shows are missing the point because they cannot get the focus off themselves. You have to look for ways to love others and not focus on finding someone to love us.
God also looks to how we love to measure what our lives can handle. What is the point of giving to someone how does not use what they have been blessed with? As a teacher of our youth department, I have learned to give through teaching and by giving I am taught and blessed in return.
This is also one of the reasons for creating this web site. In order to grow and continue to be blessed, I need to share what I have learned. I can only hope that the Lord blesses you in some way by what I write.
